About the Heritage Corridor Credit Union

Welcome to Your credit union!
Heritage Corridor Credit Union was founded in 1942 as
EJ&E Central Credit Union. From 1942 until 1994, the EJ&E Employees Credit Union was located on
EJ&E Railway property in Joliet, Illinois.

From 1994 until March 0f 2000, the credit union was located in an office complex in Joliet.
It was during this time that the credit union purchased land and built its current facility at 1910
Ferro Drive in New Lenox.

In the midst of sweeping changes at the railway, membership chose to relocate and rename the credit
union to ensure future growth. Membership chose this new name to pay homage to the credit union’s
transportation roots and to signify the area in which the credit union calls home.
The Illinois & Michigan National Heritage Corridor, a 120-mile corridor stretching from Lake
Michigan in Chicago to the Illinois River in LaSalle, received its designation from Congress in 1984.
